earthquakeIn the aftermath of the earthquake in Haiti, many young children are asking questions as to how and why it occurred. it is difficult to explain these things to small children especially when there are religious fanatics claming that the Haitians are being punished by god for an alleged pact with the devil that was made hundreds of years ago. The best way to address the questions of your children is through science and earthquake books.

These resources will explain why various natural phenomena occur. Not only will your children learn about plate tectonics, fault lines and the intricacies of the world around them, but you may learn a thing or two as well. Regardless of the subject, the best way to cultivate empathy and understanding is through education.

metamorphicA metamorphic rock is a rock that has changed due to pressure or heat from the earths many moving processes. This can be from sedimentary or igneous rock that is in a subduction zone and as the tectonic plate starts to sub-duct the rocks get put under immense presure and heat and changes the whole composition of the rock.

one of my favorite things to do in my spare time is take out a science book that have many ideas on science activities and plenty to look at with rocks. Take a microscope or magnififying glass and get up close and personal with the rocks you collected. Start a collection or put them back when your done inspecting them so others may enjoy them as did you. Thanks Moorescience

science books for kids

My brother is a sophomore in high school, and he has always struggled to maintain adequate grades in school. Now that he is realizing that his performance now will have an impact on what he can do in the future, he is beginning to apply himself more. Although he has increased his effort, he is still struggling to keep up in his math and social studies courses.

The one subject that he enjoys and excels in is his biology class. He has become fascinated with science, and his teacher agrees that he demonstrates an amazing proficiency and ability to understand the nuances of the subject. In order to help cultivate this academic strength and passion of his, I bought his some science books for kids for Christmas this year.
