13012_neonsWe are now going to do a series of post on ideas for kids science fair projects. I know that this subject strikes fear into the very core of certain parents and students alike. If you take it one step at a time you can do it.

Today we will discuss step one, what topic am I going to choose for my school science fair project? To solve this question you need simply to look around your environment and ask how did they get this device to work. A simple example is the toaster, how do they get the toasters heating element to know when your toast is done? Just ask yourself, what are you curious abought and want to learn more about. this is your first step in your endeavers for a winning and fun science fair project.

Check back in daily to get more ideas on how to survive the science project you just might discover the next big thing.

birdsAs we continue are blog on fun kids science projects in the back yard you need to put out feeders in your back yard unless you have an area were there are plenty of birds. In our back yard we have several feeders for humming birds and finches and whatever likes to eat seeds or nectar. I love it when I look outside and see my feeder bag full of seeds and seeing I counted 12 small finches.

Lets take that a step further now you have the birds coming to the feeder get yourself a book on birds and see how many you can name. create your own science game called name that bird. Don’t be surprised if your son or daughter remembers these small moments of time together as some of the best memories growing up. Till next time enjoy

rosesThere is so much science in the back yard that we are going to have a group of blogs on the subject. last time we talked about the small little bugs on the plant or in the dirt. today lets take a look at the plants.

Some kids science activities you can do with plants is look around your yard at the plants you see and feel. Are the leaves soft or hard big or small. why do roses have thorns? good question, answer many plants have whats called a defense system against animals wanting to eat them.

science 4 kidsEvery where I go there are stories in the news and media about budget cuts in our schools earlier last year teachers of twenty plus years were being let go because there was not enough in the budget for their services. Science scores among eighth graders in the US lags  behind thier peers in eight other countries.

Science 4 kids is a great way to spend your evening with the kids. Have you taken your kids on a field trip to your very own back yard? Yes I said that right, your yard is taming with all kinds of life. Dig in the dirt find some earth worms, snails all kinds of bugs and soil.

new yearI want to thank all you bloggers out there that are reading our blogg. The purpose of quickandeasyscienceexperimentblog.com is to share Ideas and thoughts on the kids science projects comming up now that school is rapidly aproaching us again.

I hope that as you get together with your growing einstien you will help to cultivate a love of discovery with them. Winning is important but lets also help them understand that failing to acheive an acomplishment is only failure if  they choose not to learn the valuble lessons that come with it. I am reminded of my most favorite scientist of or time Thomas A. Edison he was asked how he felt on failure and he said this “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”
